The Townsville Business Development Centre (TBDC) has been recognised as a vital support for new and emerging businesses by respected local law firm wilson/ryan/grose Lawyers.
The firm has penned a partnership agreement with the revitalised centre which will see TBDC Members receive complimentary expert legal advice.
Partner and Business Law Specialist at wilson/ryan/grose Renze Verheyen said the collaboration would allow the firm to make a difference to new and growing businesses.
“Partnering with the TBDC will allow us to more closely assist the emerging Townsville Business Community by getting in at the ground level and hopefully seeing those businesses succeed,” Mr Verheyen said.
“The TBDC is the sort of facility that somebody without a lot of experience and just starting off in business is in desperate need of, and without the TBDC they would be very hard-pressed to find that sort of support in Townsville.”
As a Queensland Law Society Accredited Business Specialist Mr Verheyen will provide expert advice on all areas of business, particularly restructuring, intellectual property and commercial agreements.
The announcement follows the formation of similar partnerships between the TBDC and Australia’s largest workplace relations specialist Employsure as well as leading Townsville accountancy and advisory firm PVW Partners.
Townsville City Council also confirmed its commitment to supporting the TBDC and its tenant businesses at its Vicker’s Road Facility late last year.
TBDC Members will now receive a complimentary expert consultation with wilson/ryan/grose as well as free attendance at a series of business law workshops to be announced soon as part of the Centre’s 2019 Workshop program.
Townsville Business Development Centre CEO Ben Verning said gaining the respect and support of wilson/ryan/grose Lawyers – one of Queensland’s longest operating law firms – would further boost the TBDC’s renewed focus on delivering greater benefits and results for its Members and their businesses.
“Our vision is to be Townsville’s leading driver of business growth, innovation, resilience and connectivity,” Mr Verning said.
“By partnering with respected & experienced local experts like wilson/ryan/grose Lawyers we’re able to provide a very high level of expert advice to Members and help them forge valuable business connections to enable them to grow and innovate as well as navigate tough times.
“We’ve been humbled and excited by the support and confidence we are receiving from key local businesses and organisations, as well as new and existing Members and we look forward to continued growth and resurgence of the Centre in 2019.”
